2019 Pinot Noir
2019 Pinot Noir
2019 Luciole single vineyard Pinot Noir
The 2019 growing season was the coolest since 2011. The vintage was ushered in with icy, freezing weather in February and a typical bud break in April, that was followed by a brief heat episode in June, intermittent summer rains, and soaking conditions in early September. Cool September temperatures allowed for sugar and acid levels to appropriately evolve with the development of pure Pinot flavors before harvest in the first days of October.
The award-winning artistry of winemaker, Thibaud Mandet, resulted in a classic, Oregon Pinot Noir at Luciole Vineyards. This visually impressive wine is clear, bright with jewel-like, ruby coloring. As one’s nose approaches the glass, pervasive black cherry aromas are accented with episodic scents of violets, red raspberry, strawberry and marionberries underpinned by a forest floor, earthiness. These aromas are equally matched on the palate in an elegant, concentrated and balanced wine with a lingering finish of succulent fruit and a hint of salty caramel. The highly expressive, mineral suffused 2019 is approachable for enjoying now, however, the silky tannins and structure enable it to be enjoyed for many years to come. This captivating, seductive experience is the perfect marriage of fine wine and original art which graces the label.
Fine wine, fine art, fine life!
